After watching the video I agree that it is beneficial knowing more than one language.  It is important to know more than one language because as stated in the video people can think in different ways.  For instance Einstein was allowed into our country yet in todays time he would probrably not be allowed because of his english.  Not allowing people into America because of their english is foolish because they bring a different way of thinking which overall benefits America.  I do believe that those who know multiple languages have better chances of not suffering from brain deteration than those who do not.  With languages disappearing at an astonishing rate i say that percautions should be made to preserve these precious languages.  Who knows one of these "dead" languages may hold the cure for something that english cannot.

Selena Quintanilla-Pérez aslos known as Selena, was born on April 16, 1971 and died on March 31, 1995.  She is one of the if not the most famous latino singer/songwriter. "She was named the "top Latin artist of the '90s" and "Best selling Latin artist of the decade" by Billboard, had fourteen top ten singles in the Top Latin Songs chart, including seven number-one hits."  Basically she was the Latino Madonna. Her untimely death was compared to that of Elvis' and placed her forever in time. I chose Selena because her contribution paved a way for countless other young latino women wishing to follow their dreams.

In this class I hope to obtain an A as well as learn spanish.  I think blogging might be helpful in learning and a good tool that can be used.  There really isnt much that i can think of that i should notify you of so lets have a good semester.
